        02/07/09
The Portland autoshow is this weekend. This will be the second year in a row that we've attended the event. William (and I'm going to assume Matthew) get a kick out of sitting in the cars and turning the steering wheel. Most cars are pretty fast to get into... there's nobody in them

      • Two post in a row?
        02/04/09
That's right, two posts in a row. Ok, in reality, I can't sleep. Went to work out tonight and then had a fiasco at the grocery store. Found out my DVR won't fit in my entertainment stand (crap) and now i can't sleep. None the less... I'm enjoying the sun over the past few

        12/25/08
Lynn and I made it to MN this year. We were able to suprise my parents by just showing up at their doorstep. You may think... that's gutsy, but we had it planned right down to the smallest details. Ok, I had a few people inside that were helping me, namely Kevin and Erin. They were able to

        09/15/08
Yeah, ok, so I didn't update at all during August. Lets see here... we've had a few visitors. Ruth Pedrick and Fran Kulesza headed out to the coast for a few days, helping us with the kids and taking a tour of the Astoria area. Lynn, the boys, and I have been busy ourselves. Two weeks

        07/25/08
Hillsboro Parks and Rec is holding a open track & field event every Wednesday night for 6 weeks in the summer. They have open events for all age groups. Lynn thought it would be fun, so we headed on over. Lynn had to take off early for work, so it was just the boys and I. William did the sof

      • Picture Gallery Fixed!
        07/21/08
Yeah! The Picture galler is finally fixed. I had to re-install it on top of the old, broken one. It took some time to work out the bad stuff out of the database, but all worked out ok. I have to give it to the open source "Gallery2" software. All worked like a charm.

        07/08/08
So last week you may have noticed that our web site was no longer working. Yeah, you may have figured, "Oh, the Horihan's web site is always down, this is just par for the course". Wrong. I had this site hosted on a professional host to relieve me of any issues like this. I was p

We participated in the annual Jackson School HOA garage sale. It was fabulous! I think we sold $3 - $4 of merchandise. The only thing of value th

Step 2 of Jason's media transfer is now complete... we now have FiOS internet! (For those not-in-the-know, its Verizon's Fiber Optic Internet) Question... is it fast? Sure. Is it faster than Comcast? Ahh... Ehhh... probably not. Comcast (cable TV, Phone, Internet) have been loosing fa

      • Did I say the "next" seven days?
        04/15/08
Oh! I really meant "7 days in the future". How about today? Great! We enter day 5 of Jason's version of Home Alone. Its not as exciting as I was hoping for, but I'm still getting more sleep. Lynn is enjoying her time in Chicago, meeting lots of friends and relatives. I

So far, not too bad. Although whenever Lynn leaves me alone with the two of them, I do get a bit uneasy... and they do have a tendency to cry at the same time. Why? I don't know.

What we have realized is that William really was a piece of cake. Now that we have the ability to &quo

        01/25/08
William is 3 today! Yikes! Could it be so long ago that he was born? It doesn't seem possible (although I have a hard time remembering what it was like not being a parent). Today William had a great time with his friends. We had a bowling party and had a Cars cake designed by Lynn. Willia

Lynn, William and I headed out on Sunday to get our own Christmas tree. This would be Lynn (and William's) first real tree! On a tip from our neighbors, we headed to "Loch Lolly", a tree farm ~10 miles north of Hillsboro. It is situated in a hilly area, with a small artifical dam w

        12/04/07
Looks like we (in Hillsboro) missed the major stormy weather. It was pretty windy yesterday when I went to work, with Gusts here about 50 mph. I thought that was pretty big, but they had gusts up to 100 mph at Timberline lodge and 160 on the coast. Its the first time every a Hurricane warning was

Last night Lynn, William and myself headed downtown Hillsboro to watch the Christmas tree lighting. They cut a ~20' Douglas fir and put it up at the relatively new civic center. They were also passing out free cookies, hot chocolate and coffee. It turned out to be a pretty rainy evening, but
